OVERVIEW
|
|
The audioconference will introduce the Forces of Change model and then discuss why stakeholder management has poll position in the model. Dean Shore argues that the three most important words in healthcare today are engagement, engagement and engagement. Further that we will never get consumer-patient engagement unless we first get physician engagement. Stakeholder theory and management are introduced and Specific strategies are discussed.
The Forces of Change presentation will address the following:
- the concept of "cowboy capitalism" and a stakeholder perspective on healthcare organizations' failure to thrive,
- data that reveals how healthcare employee engagement impacts quality, service, revenue growth, cost and profitability,
- data that portrays the inextricable link between patient satisfaction and workforce engagement,
- the three key considerations in physician dissatisfaction are revealed and discussed,
- the new challenges to CDHC are introduced and alternate strategies of consumer engagement shared,
- a model for determining the relative saliency of stakeholders is introduced from an organization-centric prospective leading to some revelations that might impact scenario planning
- each primary stakeholder is evaluated in terms of their demands and conflicts,
- key stakeholder conflicts (i.e. physician vs. hospital) are debated, and
- stakeholder management and its ROI are discussed.
